RB Away Day 2022 – Finnebrogue Woods

Team building and professional development have always been an important piece of the puzzle here at RB Chartered Accountants. 2022 has brought both new and exciting changes to the firm and as a group of professional advisors, we love to take the opportunity to reflect as a group, especially as we gear up for what’s looking likely to be a busy 2023!

September brought some significant project wins, along with some new starts and trainees! During the month of September 2022, we welcomed six new employees, each based primarily within our Belfast City Centre office.

For our company away day this year, the whole team took a trip to Finnebrogue Woods. An ancient woodland close to Strangford with a beautiful lakeside session. As a team we spent the day in the forest where we learnt essential survival & woodland bushcraft skills. A jam-packed day filled with outdoor activities, which included the basics of fire lighting, campcraft and shelter building. The perfect setting to take time out of the office, all under the careful guidance and direction of the expert bushman Rob Hill.

At around 5pm we ventured to the nearby town of Portaferry where we spent the evening as a group, sharing experiences and getting to know each other further whilst enjoying a beautiful dinner in the local hotel.

Fast forward to the following morning, which is generally one of the most anticipated days of the year. A full day of business planning, business strategy, idea generation, recognition and team collaboration.

The morning session focused on public speaking and communication. This was the perfect opportunity for everyone to enhance their own personal and professional development as we worked closely with a trained actor and communications expert.

The afternoon sessions were filled with group activities, workshops and presentations. To finish the day, the leadership team took some time to cover off 2023 strategy, proposed direction and customer feedback.

A great couple of days had by the whole team, back to the office on Monday where everyone is already talking and looking forward to what’s instore for 2023!
